"Water desalination plants are appreciated for their crucial role in mitigating the regional water crisis. The forecasts of the Ministry of Energy and Water indicate that the demand for water in Israel will increase faster than the added desalinated water guaranteed by the work plans, which presents a scenario of multiple desalination plants dotting Israel's shores in the not-too-distant future. Desalination plants, like other infrastructure facilities, are enclosed compounds, barricaded and disconnected from the environment – a matter that gains added significance due to the commitment to place them near the highly coveted coastline. The project seeks to reexamine the image of the desalination plant and proposes a plan for the desalination plant that will be built in the Western Galilee. It includes tourist-oriented, ecological, and environmental development of Israel's northern shoreline."
