In the project, I offer a new viewpoint on the process of urban planning in Israel, which is largely based on outdated modernist theories. Yerucham, the first independent development town in Israel, is a case study that presents the failure of the modernist planning vision on the one hand, and the development of a strong local organic community on the other. This organic community, together with the many vacant plots that remained without demand in the town, allows the creation of a new planning reality, in which the planning authority promotes the town's public infrastructure, to suit the local community and its needs.
