The project proposes connecting the future generation residing in the territories of historical Palestine, despite the divisions, separations, and borders created due to the wars and the complex political situation in the country. The project will enable a new layer for the city of Jerusalem, located at the junction between East Jerusalem, West Jerusalem, and the walls of the Old City – as an alternative extension to the Damascus Gate. The connection is made through music (underground music). African Americans developed underground music in the United States following the suffering caused by and resistance to segregation and racism. It reached the Palestinian street at the beginning of the 21st century. The cities of Haifa, Jaffa, Gaza, Ramallah, Rahat, and Jerusalem have all been singing due to the same shared suffering. The project provides space for the younger generation that will allow a natural connection through art without any mental or physical limitations. The new space creates a new feature for the city – an artistic feature. This is in light of the bloody reality in the city of Jerusalem. The project offers a physical and virtual connection for future generations that aspires to blur the existing boundaries.
