The design of the built environment aims to create a physical surrounding that has a profound and spiritual influence on us through dimensions of time, imagination and memory leading to depth of experience within the space and connecting the past and future. Creating this mental connection increases emotional affiliation and loyalty to the place. The project is planned in Baqa El Gharbiya, a city more than 750 years old, founded on land rich in water and surrounded by water wells and streams that played a significant role in the city’s development, in its stories, and creation of the local identity and sense of belonging. The project aims to connect between the past, present and future through a common thread, water, turning it into a lively and relevant reference throughout time. Therefore, the design utilizes the land in one of the centers and creates a place with new meaning and renewal through the power of the stories associated with the land and the design’s ability to create new experiences that connect between the physical environment and the surrounding society.
