The focus of this project is the cemetery 'Nahalat Yitchak' between Givatayim and Tel Aviv. The project offers to turn the cemetery from a detached bubble to a path of green urban sequence in which daily functions will be integrated alongside commemoration. Not always have the Jewish cemeteries been distant and isolated from the living. The premise on which this project stands is the choice of life over the sanctity of death. The architecture act responds to the urban conversation on mixed uses and offers re-examination of the "dead zones" which are hidden behind the walls. The project challenges this notion with the aim of adding green and public areas to the city's dense texture and by this to create physical and conceptual change of what is considered to be "above" and what is considered to be "beneath".
