Crafts and tiny manufacturing industries exist today alongside and within urban life, as a kind of "enclave" in the city. These areas are often cut off from the rest of the city, by isolating themselves from their surroundings and by being segregated by the population, mainly due to their neglection and sustainable reasons. In addition, the post-industrial era of today led to abandonment and disappearance of many workshops from Western cities and with them the human manufacturing activity, so that urbanity and manufacturing have become opposing concepts. The project presents the world of manufacturing and craft as an important part of the urban landscape and offers rethinking of the existence of craft together with the city, to dispel previous perceptions, create transparency and education of the population for crafts and present it as appropriate and contributing for the city. The project focuses on the craft area of south Tel Aviv, which experiences a disintegration of crafts. By combining the craft field with youth education and by enabling the community to take part in the craft learning process, it produces leakage between craft areas and the city to create a new manufacturing urban space.
