Mixed Cities is a multi-layered historical story depicting the relentless struggle for space and identity. Tel Aviv and Jaffa are particularly prominent in this aspect due to the complexity of the relationship between them. This charged relationship is constantly flooded with political, social and cultural questions about the identities of cities and their futures, each independently and both as a unified entity. The "Jaffa-Corner-Tel Aviv" project seeks to illuminate the dash that connects the two cities. A hyphen that presents the tension between the desire to merge the cities and the desire to separate them, between the swallowing of Jaffa in Tel Aviv and the present spatial separation and perpetuates the connection between the two as the current name of one city describes. The new design proposed by the project focuses on the buffer zone of the ruins of the former Manshiyah neighborhood and proposes to turn it from an abandoned enclave into a containing and bridging complex that continues the urban continuum within its boundaries. This design connects the urban road network of the neighborhoods that surround it and incorporates elements of memory and history of the place. This while focusing on the "Textile House" complex and its transformation from an "urban wall" to a "spatial door", which heals the urban fabric and creates a living and breathing connection between Jaffa, Tel Aviv and the coastline. The proposed model makes the "Square of the Beautiful Hours" an accessible road that gathers the edges of the neighborhoods that border it and leads them to a common activity space. In this way the project produces a fusion for the urban disconnect and creates one city, a city without a break.
