In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of crime and violence in the Arab community due to neglecting societal and socioeconomic problems. This project aims at learning more about this growing problem and tries to minimize it as much as possible using architectural tools. For this case, I chose my hometown Nazareth as a case study, in the hopes of minimizing the damages. I choose several architectural flaws that could or have a tendency to create and increase crime, and attempted to alter them for the better. Instead of, locking people up (in prison) and then letting them go to the same environment, we should invest in their architectural surrounding, to provide them with integration chances and in society and thus breaking the cycle. I believe that there is a direct link between the architectural surrounding and violence, through proper architecture and planning for the community we will be able to turn things around. Even if we will not demolish this phenomenon, we might be able to control and minimize it through architecture.
