Four squares decorated Allenby street in its original form, each of them played a major role in Israel’s history and especially in the history of the city of Tel Aviv. These squares that made the street what it was its early days, have disappeared and during the years has become bustling intersections. Mugrabi Square, was a large plaza in front of the Mugrabi Cinema. The place served as a significant cultural, meeting and gathering center in the city. Over the years, the square turned into a parking lot that stands near a busy intersection. The aim of the project is to create an active and diverse urban space, offering cultural, commercial and community opportunities, emphasizing the importance of pedestrian space. The design is inspired by the International Style whose characteristic form are an essential part of the Tel Aviv Code.
