The search for “correct” architecture has intrigued architects since time immemorial. From the age of the ancient Greeks and Romans, through the Gothic era and the Renaissance to the modern period, that began with the industrial revolution, and continues to this day. Upon reaching my fifth and final year of architecture studies, I would like to follow in the footsteps of these architects and define the characteristics of “good” architecture, as I see it, develop a personal design language and most importantly, formulate a coherent planning and designing method for my own use. My research has lead me to the realization that I want to practice architecture to better people’s lives and wellbeing. I believe that architecture, if done right, benefits its occupants and dwellers by efficiently integrating the entire pool of requirements and considerations. “Good” architecture creates a comfortable and humane environment by presenting a visual expression that is complex and detailed yet simple and legible.
