ECOnoMIX is an architectural prototype for a sustainable urban system that integrates organic waste treatment, green energy production, and the research and development of additional by-products. The starting point is an exploration of a material’s life cycle. Waste — particularly organic waste — when properly treated, holds the potential to become a high-value environmental, economic, and social resource. The proposal envisions a building that functions as a living organism, drawing from its surroundings while giving back tangible value. The system is not perceived solely as an industrial facility, but as one with architectural and spatial qualities that create a new urban experience. At the heart of the project lies the direct relationship between the material and the community that generates it — a connection that naturally blends industry, community, and public space. This is a proposal for a new model, one designed to integrate into a productive social fabric and become an integral, meaningful part of it.
