הפרויקט Reconnect Arena Herzliya מבקש להחיות את קניון
ארנה הסגור והמנותק דרך הסבה למבנה פתוח, מקושר ומשולב
במרקם העירוני. המבנה כולל עירוב שימושים של תעסוקה, מסחר,
מוזיאון ימי ומרכז חינוכי בזיקה לימאות. הפרויקט מממש את
הפוטנציאל העצום הגלום בסביבתו הייחודית של הקניון, השוכן
במפגש שבין העיר לים בלב המרחב החופי של הרצליה.
התכנון כולו נשען על הגריד הקיים של המבנה ומתורגם לשפה
אדריכלית חדשה, בין היתר בעיצוב חזיתות בהשראת התרנים
של הסירות העוגנות במרינה. מהלך התכנון מחזק את הקשרים
העירוניים לסביבה: משיב את הרצף של טיילת החוף שנקטע
ומעמיק את הקשר עם האתר הארכאולוגי תל מיכל, פנינת טבע
ירוקה בעלת ערך היסטורי ונופי. בהשראת עקרונות Healing
Architecture הקניון הסגור הופך למרחב ציבורי פתוח, מזמין
ומרפא- המחבר בין טבע לעיר.
its transformation into an open structure that is connected and integrated into the urban fabric. The building includes a mixed-use program of employment, commerce, a maritime museum, and an educational center linked to seamanship. The project realizes the tremendous potential embedded in the mall’s unique surroundings, located at the meeting point between the city and the sea, in the heart of Herzliya’s coastal area.
The entire design is based on the building’s existing grid and is translated into a new architectural language, including façade design inspired by the masts of the boats moored in the marina. The planning strategy strengthens the urban connections to the surroundings: restoring the continuity of the coastal promenade that was interrupted, and deepening the connection with the archaeological site of Tel Michal — a green natural gem of historical and scenic value. Inspired by the principles of Healing Architecture, the closed mall is transformed into an open, inviting, and restorative public space that connects between nature and the city.
