The project was born from listening to the silence of Lifta — a depopulated Palestinian village in Jerusalem whose stones still bear the traces of destruction and absence. The architectural intervention does not seek to restore or erase, but to give presence to what is absent and allow memory to breathe within the body of the place. The program weaves together spaces of testimony and remembrance, areas of encounter and dialogue, a place where body and voice find a stage, and a realm where scent and taste become another language of memory. Around them unfolds a system of learning, research, and creation that enables a deep reflection on the remnants of the past. All these elements intertwine through a network of pathways and openings that follow the village’s topography, connecting existing structures with new additions. Thus, walking through the site becomes a journey between the remnants of memory and renewed life — a space where past and present coexist, forming a landscape of memory, healing, and continuity.
