The Israeli coastline – one of the country’s most precious and beloved natural assets – is rapidly deteriorating. Cliff erosion, rising sea levels, and increasing population density threaten the future of the coastal environment and the public’s ability to enjoy it safely. Current solutions, such as breakwaters and beach nourishment, offer only a partial solution and fail to provide a comprehensive, long-term approach that addresses conservation, safety, and accessibility. This project proposes a new strategy for cliff protection and the expansion of the coastal zone, aiming to strike a balance between the needs of nature, the city, and the community. At its core lies a commitment to preserving natural resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring a coastal space that is accessible, safe, and sustainable – for generations to come.
