The State of Israel has been emphasizing the development of infrastructures that support the use of private cars for years, which has caused an increase in traffic density on Israel's roads, which is expected to continue to grow in the future and intensify the transportation crisis. Against the background of the crisis, it is planned to build five huge surface parking lots for the purpose of "Park and Ride" on the outskirts of Gush Dan, and a long-term solution is not in sight. The usefulness of these parking lots is questionable, since they encourage the use of private vehicles up to the parking point, rather than continuous travel by public transportation. This move could cause a lot of damage to the environment and the nearby communities in light of the rapid population growth. In addition, the planning and design of the building in itself raises a spatial issue, in view of its suitability for motorized vehicles only and its complete disregard for the city in whose territory it is located. The intervention space of the project is the " Park and Ride " parking lot on the outskirts of Rishon Lezion, with the aim of transforming it from a building with a marginal purpose whose value is in doubt to a building that serves the city's users. The building will continue to function as a parking lot in addition to uses that support human activity and will be directed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Thus, this planning is intended to initiate a new discourse regarding the relationship between the person and the vehicle, while restraining the instrumental approach to planning parking lots, which sanctifies the operating requirements of the vehicle.
